CTA’s Education Department announces 158 vacancies in 8 schools it will take charge from CTSA

DHARAMSALA, Jan 8: Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Department of Education announced 158 job vacancies in 8 schools it is set to take charge of from Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA).

26694961_462733764128684_227761912_oCTA’s Education Department made the announcement at a press conference held today at CTA’s Nyatri Hall. CTA’s President Dr Lobsang Sangay chaired the press conference.

“The third phase of transfer of schools from CTSA to Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (STSS) under the Department of Education of CTA will include eight schools: three Senior Secondary and five Secondary Schools, the President of the Central Tibetan Administration announced today,” President Sangay said.

The third phase of transfer of schools from CTSA to STSS includes Central School for Tibetans in Mundgod, Bylakuppee, Dholanji, Kollegal, CVP Bylakuppee, Chandragiri, Gurupura and Sonada.   The transfer will be completed by next month.

The Department of Education will accept applications for the job vacancies till Feb 2, 2018 and hold the selection interviews from Feb 26-28 in Dharamsala and Bylakuppee.

Addressing on the decline in the number of Tibetan students from the Tibetan schools, President Sangay said, “ The number of schools will be reduced, discussions on which schools to be closed is on.”

In a bid to improve the education standard and for better administration, STSS has, as of now, taken charge of 58 schools  from CTSA.

A total of 33 pre-primary section and four primary schools were transferred in December 2013 during the first phase, while five more primary and middle schools were transferred in July 2016 in the second phase.
