Dalai Lama launches monastery in Mandi
MANDI, April 29: Tibetan spiritual guru the Dalai Lama was given a warm welcome by Tibetans and Buddhists along the 10km road from Ghatta area to Chauntra of Jogindernagar sub-division when he went there to inaugurate a monastery on Monday.
The leader, who was received by Tibetan government-in-exile’s Prime MinisterLobsang Sangay at Chauntra, inaugurated the Zabsang Chok Ling monastery and addressed the followers of Buddhism.
“I am grateful to the Indian government and people for their support to Tibetan refugees and the cause of Tibet,” he said, adding that many governments, non-governmental organisations and individuals across the world, because of their interest in peace and justice, had consistently supported the Tibetan cause.
