Geshe Dawa Dhargay appointed as 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin of Bon tradition of Tibet

DHARAMSALA, Jan 3: Geshe Dawa Dhargay was appointed as the 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin, the new spiritual head of the Bon tradition of Tibet.
The appointment of Geshe Dawa Dhargay as the new spiritual head of Bon tradition was held at Pal Shenten Menriling Monastery in Dolanji, Himachal Pradesh on Jan 1, 2017. The ceremony was held in the presence of all the senior spiritual heads of Bon tradition, including Kyabje Lopon Yangton Thinley Nyima Rinpoche and Khen Rinpoche Luntok Tenpa Yungdrung.
The 34th Menri Trizin Geshe Dawa Dhargay was born in Sharkhog in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo.
Central Tibetan Administration’s Religion and Culture Kalon (Minister) Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok has congratulated Geshe Dawa Dhargay on being appointed as the 34th Menri Trizin.

I wish him all the success as the head of Bon tradition and pray all your efforts and hard work for the benefit of all sentient beings bear fruition,” CTA’s official webpage tibet.net quoted Kalon Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok as saying in a report.
His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche Lungtok Tenpai Nyima passed away on Sep14, 2017 while meditating at his residence at the monastery. He was 90 when he passed away and headed the Bon tradition since 1969.
