Preksha Rana crowned Miss Himalaya 2017

DHARAMSALA, Oct 9: PrekshaRana from Gaggal was crowned Miss Himalaya 2017 at the grand finale held at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in Dharamsala on Oct 8.

22359291_1681683935209343_146114721_nAfter five tightly contested rounds at the two-day competition over Oct 7-8, Preksha Rana 21 was crowned Miss Himalaya Pageant-2017 to a thunderous applause from the audience.

On top of the prized Miss Himalaya crown, Preksha Rana also received a cash prize of one lakh rupees. Tashi Lhamo, the lone Tibetan contestant from Kathmandu and Palak Thakur from Palampur were declared first and second runners-up and received fifty thousand and twenty-five thousand rupees respectively as prize money.

The 5th edition of the Miss Himalaya Pageant had a record nine contestants, the maximum number of contestants since the pageant was started in 2012 by Lobsangwangyal.
