DHARAMSALA, 30 April: A body of a Tibetan man was found near  Bajgarh river in Chauntra in Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh earlier this morning.

The deceased was reportedly identified as a 41-year old Yeshi Tenzin, a reliable source the told Tibet Express citing the Aadhar card recovered from the deceased.

“The decaying body of the Tibetan man was found near the river and the local villagers have informed the police,” Dawa Rinchen, the Tibetan Settlement Officer (TSO) of Dharamsala said.

The deceased is a thangka painter and had apparently taken leave from work over a month ago. “He had come from Tibet and has no relatives in India, he took leave from Kalsang Thangka painting centre and went to Bir,” Dawa Rinchen added.

The TSO dismissed the rumours of the Tibetan man being murdered doing the rounds on social media. “These rumours are totally uncalled for,” he added.

“The police will send his body for post-mortem at Dr Rajender Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda tomorrow to determine the cause of his death,” he concluded. 

As it remains now, the cause of his death is not known and investigations are on.
