Tourists need to provide travel history to visit Dharamsala
DHARAMSALA, 5 Feb: The Himachal Pradesh Government has made it mandatory for the tourists visiting Dharamshala to submit their travel history details.
It has become mandatory for the tourists coming to Dharamsala to provide their last fourteen days travel history to the “authorities especially mentioning about their visit to China and other South Asian countries,” the TOI reported.
“Tourists have to mention whether they had visited China or other south Asian countries in recent days. If tourists are infected with fever, cough and respiratory distress than they have to report to the health authorities,” Sunaina Sharma, Himachal’s deputy director of tourism was quoted as saying in the report.
The State government is also reported to have provided a prescribed format prepared by the health department asking tourists about their health and their travel history over the last fourteen days while it has also issued the advisory to all the hotels, homestays and guest houses.
Last week, after China’s deadly novel Coronavirus hit India, the Himachal government issued a special directive to set up a special health outpost at McLeodganj along with isolation wards at the Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda at Kangra and the Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital in Shimla.
The state government has in meantime, put 145 travellers from Himachal Pradesh under observation, the Hindustan Times reported.
Of the lot, a maximum of 32 people returned from China and other affected countries in Shimla district, followed by 20 in Kangra and 18 in Solan. The rest belong to other districts, the report said.
They are presently kept under observation at their homes, advised to avoid contact with family members, stay isolated and indoors and told to undergo the 2019-nCoV (novel coronavirus) tests at the isolation wards set up at two prominent hospitals in the state.
The government has also advised the public to inform by dialling its helpline number 104 if any of their family members have returned from the affected countries on or after 15 January.
