Dalai Lama to confer two-day Avalokiteshvara Empowerment

DHARAMSALA, 18 May: The private office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has announced that the Tibetan spiritual leader will confer a two-day Avalokiteshvara Empowerment.

“His Holiness the Dalai Lama will confer a two-day Avalokiteshvara Empowerment(Chenresig Wang) from his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India on 29-30 May,”  reported the dalailama.com, the official website of the Office the Dalai Lama.  

The office has further urged the devotees and followers of the Tibetan Nobel Laureate to observe social distancing rules while viewing the live webcast as a precautionary measure as the world battles COVID-19.

Earlier the Tibetan spiritual leader gave two-days teaching on Chapters 1 and 4 of Master Nagarjuna’s “Precious Garland (Rinchen Trengwa)” from 16-17 May during which he expressed his hopes to conduct further online teachings as requested by his followers and devotees.

Devotees can watch the live webcast of the teachings and listen to them in Tibetan, Chinese, Hindi, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, PortugueseRussian and Mongolian from the official website and Facebook pages of the office of the Tibetan Nobel Laureate.

Meanwhile, the octogenarian Tibetan leader stopped his meetings with visitors at his residence as a precautionary measure since 30th Jan. Additionally, Tsuglagkhang, the main temple here in Dharamsala was closed for devotees from 18th March, a day after the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in India.
