Dalai Lama to confer ceremony for generating Bodhichitta on Saka Dawa full moon day

DHARAMSALA, 3 June: The private office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has announced that the Tibetan spiritual leader will confer the Ceremony for Generating Bodhichitta (semkye) on Friday. “His Holiness the Dalai Lama will confer the semkye from approximately 9 am to 10 am (Indian Standard Time) on the occasion of the full moon day of Saka Dawa,” reported the dalailama.com, the official website of the Office the Dalai Lama. The office has further urged the devotees and followers of the Tibetan Nobel Laureate to observe social distancing rules while viewing the live webcast as a precautionary measure as the world battles COVID-19. Devotees can watch the live webcast of the teachings and listen to them in Tibetan, English, Chinese and other languages on the official websites and Facebook pages of the Tibetan Nobel Laureate, the office added. The Dalai Lama usually conducts a public Ceremony for Eight Mahayana Precepts (Vows) from Thekchen Choeling Tsuglagkhang, the main temple here in Mcleod Ganj on the auspicious full moon day of Saka Dawa month. Additionally, the Dalai Lama will also engage in a dialogue with selected youth from Southeast Asia from 8 am to 9.30 am (Indian Standard Time) on 7 June. The live webcast of the dialogue will see the octogenarian Tibetan leader give a general talk which will be followed by a question and answer session.
