poOver three hundred Tibetan students from India and Nepal joined a leadership workshop in a local Tibetan Children’s Village School in Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, that is the seat of the Tibetan administration in exile.

The department of education which is one of the seven departments of Central Tibetan Administration had organised the third annual workshop which was inaugurated by Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, who is the elected political leader of Tibetans in exile.

During the eight-day long
workshop, the students will be taught about leadership, Tibetan exile, administration and qualities of leaders.

“We need lots of leaders because this is a Tibetan freedom struggle and in any freedom struggle, more leaders the better, not leaders just in political sense but in education, in settlements, in hospitals, whatever they do, we want Tibetan leaders to come and this year we are very excited that we have almost 300 students from 31 schools who are beaming with confidence and curiosity to be leaders of Tibet,” said Sangay.
