DHARAMSALA, May 13: His Holiness the Dalai Lama has agreed to grace the swearing-in ceremony of Sikyong Lobsang Sangay’s second term as the political head of the Tibetan people.
Sikyong Sangay, having been declared the winner with a lead of 9012 votes over Speaker Penpa Tsering by the Tibetan Election Commission (EC) on the April 27, will swear-in at an official function on May 27, 2016 as per the Charter of Tibetans-in-Exile, states a report on the CTA’s official website, www.tibet.net
The ceremony will be held at Tsug-lag-Khang, the main temple in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala; the proceedings of the ceremony will commence from 09:30 am.
‘His Holiness the Dalai Lama has very kindly consented to grace the swearing-in ceremony with his presence,’ declared the report on the CTA’s official website.
The occasion to be graced by His Holiness will see Mr Kargyu Dhondup, CTA’s Chief Justice Commissioner administer the oath to Sikyong Sangay.
