The Tibetan Spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, currently visiting the United States for a series of public talks, religious teachings, and public events until Jun 28, will attend a bipartisan lunch event on Tuesday along with 30 members including actor Richard Gere, an old friend and a Tibet supporter.

Pelosi, a long-term Tibet supporter, described the bipartisan lunch with the Speaker as a reflection of the deep respect the Tibetan noble laureate enjoys for his message of peace, compassion and love in her statement, and added, “It is a great official and personal honor to welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama back to the United States Capitol.”

Ryan in his statement said, “It’s an honor to join Leader Pelosi in welcoming His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Capitol,” and added, “his faith is an inspiration to so many.”
