DHARAMSALA, Nov 17: Two Tibetan women have staged a peaceful protest on Tuesday against China’s repressive rule in Tibet in restive Ngaba county in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo.
A short video of the protest circulating on various social media apps shows the two women, draped in traditional Tibetan Chuba and each lifting a portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama adorned with khatak (Tibetan ceremonial scarf), shouting “long live the Dalai Lama” as they stage their peaceful protest in Ngaba.
Though Kanyak Tsering, spokesperson of the exile seat of Kirti monastery here in Dharamsala, confirmed to Tibet Express that the protest did take place, he said the identification of the two women and their whereabouts following the peaceful protest remain unknown.
