CTA signs MoU with varsity for collaboration in various fields

DHARAMSALA, July 8: The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 4 in New Delhi to work in various areas of mutual interest and promote Indo-Tibet friendship, reported Odisha Sun Times citing a release by KIIT on July 7 as saying.

As per the MoU signed by the Prime Minister of Tibetans in exile, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay and Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, the two organizations will work in areas of mutual interest such as education, heritage, social development, livelihood and skill building. Both sides have also agreed to undertake collaborative research, capacity building, pedagogy development, training and counselling and preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture.

They also agreed to promote Indo-Tibet friendship.

KIIT further agreed to work for the educational development of Tibetan people.

The MoU was signed after Dr. A. Samanta, the Founder of KIIT agreed to a proposal made by Sikyong Lobsang Sangay to work with KIIT considering the track record KIIT in the field of education and social service in eastern India.

Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay will visit KIIT and its sister concern, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), in the near future.
