Moa Zedong’s lone grandson possibly killed in North Korean bus crash
DHARAMSALA, May 1: Mao Xinyu, the only grandson of Mao Zedong, the founding father of the Chinese Communist Party might have died in the North Korean bus crash transporting Chinese tourist.
An unconfirmed report on Taiwan News said that the only grandson of Chinese Communist Party leader Mao Zedong might have been one of the 36 fatal victims of a bus crash in North Korea last month.
A bus ferrying Chinese tourist fell off a bridge in North Hwanghae Province of North Korea earlier on April 22 and killed thirty-two Chinese tourists and four North Koreans.
A rare admission of negative news from North Korea’s tightly controlled propaganda network, the KCNA and the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s visit to the hospital to meet two Chinese survivors gained international spotlight on the horror bus crash.
The report further added that the identity of one of the Chinese victims (Mao Xinyu) might have been the reason for all the attention the bus crash received in North Korea.
Mao Xinyu, 48, the lone grandson of Mao who ruled China with an iron fist from 1949 until his death in 1976, is also a Major General in the People’s Liberation Army of China but received criticism across social media platforms for his incompetence and became the butt of many jokes.
