Nikki Haley urges US to take stronger action against China, says if China takes Taiwan, it’s ‘all over’
DHARAMSALA, 17 June: Former US ambassador to United Nations, Nikki Haley has stated that “the US must take stronger action against China” as she warned that Beijing is hell-bent on world domination — and that Taiwan is ground zero.
The US must take stronger action against China, starting with organizing a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing with allies like India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Canada, The Hill quoted potential 2024 GOP (another name for the Republican Party — Grand Old Party) presidential hopeful Haley as saying at a closed-door meeting with members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) on Wednesday.
According to the report, Haley told nearly 70 GOP lawmakers in the basement of the Capitol that “the last Olympics that they had [in 2008] was their coming out. That’s how they saw it. They were introducing themselves to the world. This next Olympics, if it goes unscathed, this is their way of showing that they are now the superpower of the world.”
“And if we don’t boycott, if we don’t do something to really call them out, mark my words: Taiwan is next. And if they take Taiwan, it’s all over, because they will think that gives them free rein to grab any territory, not in the region, but anywhere they want to go.”
The Indian-American Republican politician, who has previously declared China as the US’ “absolute number one” national security threat has authored an op-ed earlier in March calling on President Joe Biden to stand up to the Chinese Communist Party and boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Hailey argues that though it would be a terrible loss for the athletes, it must be weighed against the genocide occurring in China and the prospect that empowering China will lead to even greater horrors down the road.”
The Games are scheduled to begin on 4 Feb next year, but calls to boycott it continues to get steam.
