Suspected Chinese spy arrested from Delhi
DHARAMSALA, 21 Oct: A suspected Chinese spy has been arrested from Majnuka-Tilla, in New Delhi, the capital of India by the Delhi Police.
The alleged Chinese spy, identified as Cai Ruo was arrested for alleged involvement in “anti-national activities” while staying in India with a forged identity, media reports said.
The Chinese woman from Hainan province had assumed the identity of a Buddhist nun, Dolma Lama while residing in India as a Nepalese citizen.
However, while investigating, the police have found out that the Chinese woman living in India with a false identity has entered India in 2019 on a Chinese passport after checking records with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer.
She was reportedly arrested from Majnu ka Tila in north Delhi by the Delhi Police’s special cell following searches based on the information received by the authorities.
The suspected Chinese spy has claimed that she was living in India illegally as a Buddhist nun because some leaders in China’s Communist Party wanted to kill her when she was found to be promoting anti-national activities by the authorities.
The Delhi police have stated that a case has been registered under section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Foreigners Act at a special police cell while further investigations are on with the National Investigation Agency and intelligence agencies briefed over the development.
