Tibetan NGOs concede defeat to forge a way forward out of exile political impasse
DHARAMSALA, 18 Aug: Tibetan NGOs here in the exile headquarters of the Tibetan people today accepted defeat in their efforts for an immediate resolution of the political impasse that has rocked the Central Tibetan Administration(CTA) commonly referred to as the Tibetan government in exile.
“Having realized that their appeal calling for an immediate resolution to the political deadlock and to forge a way forward can’t be materialized, henceforth, we have decided to stop our efforts and campaigns over the resolution of the current political discord,” read the statement jointly issued by Tibetan NGOs.
Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association, National Democratic Party of Tibet, and Students for a Free Tibet-India began their efforts in July. The group started by calling for an immediate resolution of the political impasse in their joint statement issued on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday.
While fielding questions, the group stated that they meant the best for the greater good of the CTA and the Tibetan freedom movement, did everything they could, and added that having realized that their efforts won’t yield any results, they have to stop.
With this development, it now remains to see how the political deadlock that started in March and still continues even today will come to an end.
