Senior officials and representatives of several Tibetan NGOs were also present in the morning at the airport to welcome the Tibetan spiritual leader.

His Holiness left for treatment in the United States on Jan 19, however a video showing His Holiness with a swollen eye just before he boarded the plane at Gaggal airport made Tibetans across the world worry all the more about their spiritual leader who turned 80 last year.

Tibetans and supporters in thousands who stood by the side of the road leading up to his residence with khatags (ceremonial scarves) and incense to welcome His Holiness back to Dharamsala were filled with happiness and joy as they saw their dear leader in excellent health.
