Dalai Lama wishes India’s President speedy recovery

DHARAMSALA, 31 March: The Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed his delight after the Indian President underwent successful bypass surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Tuesday.

 

In a missive addressed to the President of India, H.E. Ram Nath Kovind, the Dalai Lama has expressed his pleasure that the bypass surgery the president underwent had been a success and offered his prayers for the former’s speedy recovery.

 “I pray for your speedy recovery,” the octogenarian Tibetan leader said  and added that  “I feel privileged to have known you for many years and count you as an old friend.”

 A statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan after the surgery said that “The President of India is stable and is being closely monitored by a team of senior doctors.”
