Change of guard: Thinlay Chukki appointed new Representative of Tibet Bureau Geneva

DHARAMSALA, 3 May: Thinlay Chukki, a former Special Appointee for Human Rights at Tibet Bureau, Geneva has been appointed as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Tibet Bureau Geneva Office of Tibet.

Thinlay Chukki has been appointed as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Tibet Bureau, Geneva effective 22 June 2022 as per Article 19 (1) of the Public Service Commission’s rules and regulations, a release from the Kashag secretariat stated in a report on the CTA’s official website, www.tibet.net.

The new Representative of Tibet Bureau Geneva is a Harvard Law School graduate and she is the former Special Appointee for Human Rights at the same office from September 2019 to August 2021.

Additionally, she has also worked as a researcher at the UN-EU and Human Rights Desk of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamshala, India for a year from 2018-to 2019.

Besides, she has represented Tibetans at the UN and several international conferences. Before serving the CTA, she headed Tata Motors, an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company’s South-India Legal Department.
