The exhibition showcasing over 90 artworks at the old Tibet Museum near Tsuglakhang, predominantly by JC, and pieces by Tenzin Melak and Tashi Nyima, two young Tibetan artists also features works from other Tibetan artists like Tenzin Choejor, the official photographer for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as well as Tenzin Dolker, Ngoshi Choedon, Sonam Yeshi, Tenzin Dorjee, Karma Sichoe, Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee, and Tenzin Choezin.
The exhibition’s purpose is to celebrate and appreciate the artworks of Tibetan artists. KHADOK is conducting auctions both online and at the venue for some of the showcased artworks.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will support JC’s family. The auction and exhibition will continue until August 27. Visitors have the opportunity to engage with young Tibetan artists during the exhibition, which will conclude with musical performances on Sunday, featuring renowned Tibetan artist Rytha and others.
JC created the artwork for Rytha’s popular song “Maa” and designed the logo for the well-known Tibetan YouTube show “Aha Moment.” He was described by his fellow artists as a talented yet “simple and fun-loving” individual.
