DHARAMSALA, Oct 10: Ayushi Sethi from Dharamshala was crowned winner of Miss Himalaya Pageant 2016 at a contest held on Oct 9 at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in Dharamsala.
Two girls from Dharamsala, Ayushi Sethi (21) and Parul Patel (23), studying Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Dharamsala Degree College respectively, took part in the contest.
After four tightly contested rounds that included Talk, Talent, Traditional Costume, and Interview, Ayushi Sethi was crowned Miss Himalaya Pageant-2016 to a thunderous applause from the audience.
On top of the prized Miss Himalaya crown, Ayushi Sethi also received a cash prize of one lakh rupees. Parul Patel, the only other contestant, was awarded fifty thousand rupees.
Lobsang Wangyal, Director cum Producer of the event, thanked Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority for supporting his initiative by donating one lakh rupees for this year’s pageant and also urged young and talented Himalayan women to step forward and take part in next year’s pageant as it empowers them and brings Himalayan people closer to each other.
