Tibetans told to criticise Dalai Lama, separatists for job at Men- Tsee-Khang in Gonjo

DHARAMSALA 20 June: Chinese authorities have made it mandatory for Tibetans to be critical of their Tibetan Spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a job recruitment announcement in Gonjo in the traditional Tibetan province of Kham.

A notice dated 14 June about recruiting new employees for a Tibetan Medical Clinic(Men-Tse Khang) in Gonjo County in eastern Tibet has categorically demanded applicants to “oppose the Dalai Lama and separatists.”  

The notice further demanded the Tibetan applicant’s allegiance to the CCP and its ideologies to maintain national unity, sovereignty and integrity to be employed at the Men-Tsee-Khang.

According to the announcement available online,  the hospital is recruiting ten new employees. The hospital already has 38 employees and the new recruitment has been necessitated by the expansion of the hospital.

The hospital is reported to be the only Tibetan medical hospital in the area and it is the primary supply source of Tibetan medicine and related services.
