DHARAMSALA, March 8: Nepal has yet again denied permission for Tibetans to observe the 58th Tibetan National Uprising Day on March 10th.
The Tibetan welfare office based in Kathmandu has its application turned down by the district authorities as it sought permission to hold public gathering to commemorate the Tibetan National Uprising Day.
“Nepal has denied permission from holding any kind of public gathering this year on March 10, the 58th Tibetan National Uprising Day,” reads a circular issued by the Kathmandu based Tibetan Refugee Welfare Office.
The notice dated March 7 has further urged Tibetans to refrain from holding public gatherings and peaceful protests. It further encouraged Tibetans to abide by the laws of the land and resort to prayers and ritual activities at home.
