Dalai Lama and CTA President congratulate Mongolian President-elect

DHARAMSALA, July 10: Leaders of the Tibetan people have congratulated Khaltmaa Battulga, the Mongolian President-elect.

In a congratulatory letter to the President-elect of Mongolia, Khaltmaa Battulga, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his encouragement at the interest and enthusiasm that the people of Mongolia showed towards Buddhism, no longer relying only on blind faith but as 21st century Buddhists founding their faith on understanding, reports the Dalai Lama’s official web page, dalailama.com.

19904856_1585594518151619_1974243943_nThe Tibetan spiritual leader recalled the unique and close relations the Mongolian and the Tibetans shared since the time of the third Dalai Lama, Sonam Gyatso and wished the President-elect every success in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the Mongolian people.

“On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration, I heartily congratulate Mr Khaltmaa Battulga, the new President-elect of Mongolia,” Lobsang Sangay, the President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) was quoted as saying in CTA’s official website, Tibet.net.

The President of the CTA further highlighted the historical bond of the Mongolian and Tibetan people and wished for the success, prosperity and welfare of the Mongolian people under the leadership of the Mongolian President-elect.

Khaltmaa Battulga, a former wrestler and businessman won 50.6 percent of the total vote to overcome his opponent Mr Miyeegombo Enkhbold of the Mongolian People’s Party.
