DHARAMSALA, Oct 10: Declaring China an enemy for supporting Pakistan, a village court in Bihar has banned sale and purchase of ‘Made in China’ products.
Village court (Gram Kachahri) of Obra panchayat in Bihar’s Aurangabad district with a population of over 10,000 people on Saturday declared China an adversary for supporting Pakistan and announced blanket ban on sale and purchase of ‘Made in China’ goods.
The move materialized following a meeting between the members of village court and local residents convened by Gudiya Devi, sarpanch (elected head) of the village court.
“We should not purchase and use made in China good, this will weaken their economy.” indianexpress.com quoted Gudiya as saying in its report, Oct 8.
The court also passed a provision with consensus to punish people found violating the order by imposing a fine, the report added.
Over two dozen shops in Obra panchayat that generate revenues worth lakhs of rupees selling Chinese manufactured commodities during the festival season will do away with Chinese products now.
