TYC holds solidarity protest in front of Chinese consulate in NY, Toronto
DHARAMSALA, 30 June: The Regional chapters of Tibetan Youth Congress New York and New Jersey in US and Toronto in Canada have staged a solidarity protest in front of the Chinese consulate in their respective cities to express their solidarity with India and to strongly condemned China’s aggression on Indian territory that killed at least 20 Indian soldiers, including a commanding officer.
The protests were held at the Chinese Consulate in New York City and Toronto on 29th June respectively under the direction of Central Tibetan Youth Congress to show Tibetan people’s support and solidarity with people of India on the recent Chinese Military intrusion in Galwan Valley, Ladakh region where 20 Indian Soldiers were martyred defending their national territory, the TYC said in a statement it released.
“We strongly condemn Chinese aggressive intrusion in India territory,” the statement read.

TYC further declared “Tibet’s independence as India’s security.”
The TYC chapters; NY&NJ and Toronto also made calls to make the Chinese Communist regime accountable for the Wuhan, China originated COVID-19 pandemic that infected 10,302,867 people and killed 505,518 people across the world
Calling out China for its atrocities, the TYC launched its global movement to boycott made in China products from the organisation’s and the exile headquarter of the Tibetan people, Dharamsala on 16 June.
Gonpo Dhundup, the President of TYC laid out laid-out three reasons why everyone should boycott Chinese products among others that is “consuming Chinese products equals to supporting CCP’s human rights abuses, supporting China’s military buildup and Beijing’s mishandling of Coronavirus outbreak.”
After launching the “global movement to boycott made in China” products campaign here in Dharamsala, Dhondup announced that the organisation’s 87 regional branches across the world will follow suit.
