10th session of TPIE to be held over 15-31 March

DHARAMSALA, 27 Nov: The Tibetan Parliament-in-exile(TPIE ) has announced that its 10th session will be held for a fifteen-day from 15 March 2021 to debate and to approve the annual budget of the CTA and to discuss the work reports of the seven departments of the Central Tibetan Administration.

“The 10th session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will be held from 15 March 2021 (Monday) to 31 March 2021 (Wednesday) for 15 days in the Parliamentary Hall, Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat,” the Tibetan Parliament Secretariat said in an announcement it issued on Friday.

“The decision was taken by the Standing Committee of the TPIE at its 349th  meeting held on 24 November 2020, in accordance to the Article 40 of the Charter of Tibetans in exile,” it added.

The Tibetan Parliament Secretariat further called on the legislatures to register their attendance at the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat a day ahead of the session and to inform the office at the earliest if any parliamentarians need accommodations during the session.

Earlier in August, “the rising urgency situation across the world caused by COVID-19 which originated in Wuhan, China” has forced the TPIE to postpone its 10th session which was scheduled to be held from 16-24 September 2020.
