CTA President calls on Representatives of OOT  to analyze relation between host country and Beijing

DHARAMSALA, 21 Jan:  The President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has called on Representatives of Offices of Tibet to analyze the relationship between their host country and Beijing while running their offices.

CTA President Penpa Tsering has reportedly made the remarks at the virtual two-day annual meeting of the Offices of the Representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama across the world commonly known as  Offices Of Tibet(OOT) or CTA’s missions organized by the CTA’s Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) over  19 -20 January.

At the meeting, the CTA President has elucidated the Representatives on the “objectives of the Offices of Tibet, underscoring the need to study the relationship between their host countries and Beijing, and to perform their responsibilities accordingly,” noted a report on tibet.net, the official webpage of the CTA.

According to the report, President Tsering has further “stressed the importance of building effective communication among the various Representatives, and the need to forge an effective resistance against baseless criticisms of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people.”

Discussions were held on “six formulated agendas to strengthen Tibetan political and administrative capacities,” at the meeting the report said.

The CTA’s DIIR Minister in her concluding remarks has “encouraged the Representatives to update their respective host country’s policy towards China to DIIR,” besides encouraging the Representatives “to regularly attend events organised by the local officials to garner support for Tibet.”

Those in attendance of includes Representative Dongchung Ngodup (OOT Delhi), Representative Namgyal Choedup (OOT DC), Tsultrim Gyatso (Coordinator for Tibetans in Nepal), Representative Chhimey Rigzin (OOT Geneva), Representative Tsewang Gyalpo Arya (OOT Tokyo), Representative Sonam Tsering Frasi (OOT London), Representative Tashi Phuntsok (OOT Brussels), Representative Karma Singey (OOT Canberra), Representative Telo Tulku Rinpoche (OOT Moscow), Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa (OOT Taiwan), Representative Ngodup Dorjee (OOT Pretoria), Representative Jigme Tsering (OOT South America), and Coordinator Namgyal Samdup (OOT Paris)  DIIR Secretary Karma Choeying, and Additional Secretaries Tenzin Lekshay and Namgyal Tsewang and DIIR administrator Tashi Phuntsok.
