Tsuglagkhang to reopen for devotees from Losar
DHARAMSALA, 28 Feb: Tsuglagkhang, the main temple of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama which was closed nearly two years ago due to the raging COCVID-19 pandemic, is set to reopen for devotees from the first day of the Tibetan lunar calendar.
Thekchen Choeling Tsuglagkhang will be opening for devotees from 3 March onwards, which happens to be the 1st day of the Tibetan New Year(Losar), the charitable trust of the Dalai Lama’s temple announced Monday.
The circular has however called for caution from the devotees considering the safety of everyone and urged the devotees to wear masks while visiting the temple, to maintain a safe distance and to sanitise one’s hand before entering the temple.
The Main Tibetan Temple was closed from 18 March 2020 until now owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as precautionary measures being taken by various Indian government authorities, including the imposition of Section 144 by the Kangra District administration.
