Avalanche buries 9 in North-West Tibet

DHARAMSALA, July 18: An avalanche in Ngari in North-West Tibet has buried nine people on Sunday.
Eight meters deep, the avalanche fell on a grazing point some 300 kms from the seat of Rutog county in Ngari prefecture, at around 11 am ( Ngari local Time), reports Chinese state media, china.org.cn, July 18.
According to the local authorities, nine people were reportedly buried by the avalanche in Rutog County which sits at an average elevation of 4,500 meters (about 14,800 feet).
The local authorities have dispatched rescuers and equipment to the scene to look for those missing in the accident.
