Canto-pop star Denise Ho who got arrested for supporting Hong Kong protest meets His Holiness

DHARAMSALA May 16: Hong Kong-based Canto-pop singer and celebrity Denise Ho met His Holiness the Dalai Lama on her birthday, reported South China Morning Post May 14.

The singer, also known as HOCC, who turned 39 on May 10, met with the Dalai Lama on her birthday and described the meeting as an unforgettable birthday and posted pictures of her meeting on her official Facebook page on Friday, saying:

“He is a sublime Venerable, a loving grandpa, and also a teacher who shares his wisdom, I could feel the blessing and energy rushing through my body just by holding his hands.”

The high-profile supporter of the 2014 Hong Kong protest, Ho did not mention the exact location of the meeting and although she is not a Buddhist, she confessed her admiration for the Dalai Lama as the most respected teacher.

“His guidance is so powerful because he squares his words with his conduct,” she wrote on her face book post.

The Canadian-educated singer has been actively involved in political movements in recent years, including in the 2014 Occupy Movement.

Ho was the first Hong Kong celebrity to be hauled away and arrested for taking part in the protests during the police clearance of Admiralty.
