New Postage stamp created in Germany to celebrate His Holiness’ 80th birthday
DHARAMSALA, July 3: A postage stamp will be made available in Germany to honour the Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Created by the Washington-headquartered International Campaign (ICT) for Tibet and valued at 62 cents is a product of the German Postal Services.
“This postage stamp is a rare recognition of the popularity of the Dalai Lama in Germany; it is sure to become a collector’s item. It is our way of honoring the world’s most famous Buddhist, the exiled religious leader of Tibet,” ICT-Germany Executive Director Kai Müller was quoted as saying on savetibet.org, ICT’s official website.
