South-West Tibet hit by series of earthquake

DHARAMSALA, August 12: According to US Geological Survey, Tibet’s South West region was hit a by series of earthquakes in the last few days, the latest of which was 4.7 magnitude at 6:16 am today.
According to a Xinhua report today, an earth quake measuring 4.4 on Richter scale hit Nyima county in Nagchu in the traditional Tibetan province of Kham yesterday.
The shallow earthquake with a depth of 7 km was recorded at the epicenter located 34.32 degrees north latitude and 86.18 degrees east longitude in Nagchu county.
They were no reports of casualties or the extent of damage the disaster has caused.
