Tibetan girl makes it to Top Model Belgium 2018 final

Dharamsala, April 3: A Tibetan teenage girl has made history by becoming the first ever Tibetan to make it to the final of Top model Belgium 2018- season 14.
Tenzin Zomkey, 15, has successfully made it to the final of Top Model Belgium 2018 – season 14, according to Facebook posts by several Tibetan netizens.
She was shortlisted in the final 65 contestants from a total of 400 contestants on April 2 after vote count. People from Belgium, France and Luxemburg voted via SMS.
Zomkey, overjoyed by the feat, is seen dancing and jumping in a video being circulated on the social networking site.
According to Palden Tsering, the first person to share the news online, Zomkey hails from Mundgod Tibetan settlement and moved to Belgium 6-7 years ago.
Zomkey first enrolled for the contest in October last year and underwent various training sessions as she embarked on her journey to become a top model.
The grand finale of the contest will be held in Paris on Jan 21, 2018.
The contest, which includes three categories- fashion models, models & beauty – is open to boys and girls from 14 to 28 years, and women aged 29 to 45 years.
