Tsewang Tsamchoe Clinches Three Gold Medals for Outstanding Academic Achievement at University of Mysore

DHARAMSALA, 20 Oct: Tsewang Tsamchoe, a Tibetan girl studying genetics at the University of Mysore in South India, was honored with three gold medals for her exceptional performance in M.Sc Genetics during the award ceremony held on 18 October, as reported by tibet.net, the official website of the Central Tibetan Administration.
Tsamchoe was born in the Tibetan refugee settlement of Dhondhenling in Kollegal, where she completed her studies up to grade X at Sambhota Tibetan School. Subsequently, she pursued her eleventh and twelfth grades at the Central School for Tibetans in Mundgod.
“As a refugee, I have always risen above adversity, recognising the invaluable educational opportunities available to us without hindrance. We must seize these opportunities with determination” she said.
She is one of the recipients of the Department of Education’s scholarship for securing the top position among twelfth graders in all Tibetan schools in 2016. Tsamchoe expressed that a passion for learning, rooted self-confidence, and the resolve to never give up are crucial, adding, “Even when confronted with daunting concepts or uncertainties, I hold fast to the belief that there’s no such thing as a foolish question. This commitment allows us to keep our dreams alive and work towards a brighter future.”
Extending gratitude to all the people and communities who have believed in and supported her throughout her journey, she thanked her parents, siblings, mentors, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dalai Lama, and the Indian government. She added, “Surrounding myself with a supportive network of individuals who inspire and challenge me also played a vital role in my pursuit of success.”
The Education department of CTA extends its congratulations to Tsewang Tsamchoe “for her extraordinary achievement and for serving as an inspiration to the Tibetan youth, while wishing her a bright and prosperous future ahead.”
