Two peace envoys meet to discuss on compassion in Dharamsala
DHARAMSALA, 29 May: Nobel peace laureates, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Kailash Satyarthi have met to discuss on compassion at the former’s residence here in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala.
Kailash Satyarthi has made the trip to call on the Dalai Lama to discuss and exchange thoughts on compassion to solve the problems our world is confronted with.
The India Nobel Laureate and child rights activist reached Dharamsala on Monday for the three-day intensive discussion to seek the Dalai Lama’s counsel for his upcoming book according to reports on several Hindi language newspapers.
“Meeting H.H. Dalai Lama is always joyful, humorous and worthy,” Satyarthi tweeted.
Satyarthi, who has protected more than 87,000 children in India from exploitation has also visited the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) school in upper Dharamsala, an integrated community working for the care and education of Tibetan refugee children.
“Children are the best source of true love and true love is contagious,” Satyarthi said in a tweet accompanying a picture of his visit to the Tibetan school.
The Tibetan spiritual leader was awarded the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his nonviolent campaign and efforts for a peaceful resolution over the brutal suppression of the Tibetans after the Chinese occupation while Kailash Satyarthi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Malala Yusufzai of Pakistan in the year 2014 for his work to protect children around the world from human trafficking, enslavement and child labor, as well as his support of education for all.
