DHARAMSALA, 01 Aug: Indresh Kumar, a senior leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) reiterated his support for the independence of Tibet from China’s occupation by calling on Indians to support the freedom of Tibet from the Chinese occupation.
The senior RSS leader made the remarks at a seminar jointly organized by the largest Indian Tibet support group Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) and the Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Jammu titled “Save Himalaya Save Tibet.”
Calling for the liberation of Tibet from China’s occupation, he said “We must also support and hold prayers for freedom of Tibet and liberation of Kailash -Mansarovar,” the Daily Excelsior reported on Sunday.
“The Tibet as well as Kailash -Mansarovar are outside the wall of China so it is necessary that Chinese influence should not be on the Himalayas.”
He further said that China spreads “hatred and enmity” and declared “China is the worst enemy of humanity while India always respected human values.”
“China is one such country which has nothing to do with humanity. It keeps on giving tension to many countries of the world in some form or the other. Nothing can be expected of humanity from China.”
Moreover, the attending dignitaries, including Indresh Kumar spoke about the significance of protecting the environment, ecosystem and the ancient Himalayan Buddhist traditions.
Acknowledging various risks surrounding the Himalayan regions, Kumar calls for collective responsibility for the protection and conservation of its land and culture. “Together, we can make a difference and secure a sustainable future for the Himalayas and Tibet,” he said.
The chief patron of the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society/BTSM is a strong supporter of the Tibet cause, particularly the Independence of Tibet.
