The Dalai Lama to deliver convocation address at University of Mysore

DHARAMSALA, Oct 24: His Holiness the Dalai Lama will attend the 97th convocation of University of Mysore (UoM) and deliver the convocation address.

The University of Mysore will host the Tibetan spiritual leader at its 97th annual convocation in mid-December, reports The Times of India, Oct 23.

14808897_1294631487247925_623007933_oDignitaries attending the convocation include Governor and Chancellor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala and Pro-Chancellor Basavaraja Rayareddy.

The university has preponed its annual convocation by a month and decided to host it on December 13.

“We had to advance it by a month as spiritual leader the Dalai Lama gave us the date on December 13,” the report quoted UoM Registrar, R Rajanna as saying.

Earlier today, the Dalai Lama returned to his temple-residence in Dharamsala following a five-country European tour of Latvia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Italy from October 8 – 23.
