Sikyong speaks on Tibet issue to Chinese scholars and students in Washington DC

DHARAMSALA, May 16: The democratically elected political leader of the Tibetan people, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay on May 13 emphasized the importance of building trust between the Chinese and Tibetan people through interaction and stated that the Middle Way Approach (MWA) was envisioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and implemented by the Central Tibetan Administration to address the enduring mistrust between the two people.

Tibetan Reception Centre staff shot by unknown man

DHARAMSALA, May 8: A Tibetan man was rushed to hospital after he was shot by an unidentified man early this morning at the Tibetan Reception Centre located near Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala.
The victim, Wangchuk, a staff at the centre was shot on the collar bone of his right shoulder at around 4 am this morning. He was immediately rushed to Tanda hospital where he is currently said to be out of danger.

Tibetan translation of ‘Authenticating Tibet’ launched

DHARAMSALA, May 7: A translation in Tibetan language of the book ‘Authenticating Tibet: Answers to China’s 100 questions was launched on May 6 by the political head of the Tibetan people, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) located within the premises of the Central Tibetan Administration here in Dharamsala.

China imposes “harsh policies of repression on Buddhists” across Tibet plateau: USCIRF Annual Report 2015

DHARAMSALA, May 5: Recommending the US State Department to re-designate China as a “country of particular concern” (CPC), where “particularly severe violations of religious freedom” are perpetrated or tolerated, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) in its 2015 Annual Report states that China imposes “harsh policies of repression on Buddhists” across the Tibetan plateau.
