DHARAMSALA 15 Aug: The Central Tibetan Administration(CTA) celebrated the 79th anniversary of India’s independence by hoisting the tricolored Indian national flag  at its headquarters in Dharamshala today,  extending heartfelt congratulations to the people and the government of India on behalf of Tibetans both inside occupied Tibet and in exile.

DHARAMSALA, 13 Aug: The wheels are now in motion for the 2026 Tibetan general elections. The Election Commission (EC) under the Tibetan government in exile has announced that the formal election process will commence after October 1, 2025, when two additional Election Commissioners are sworn in, setting the stage for voting that will take place next year across the global Tibetan diaspora.

DHARAMSHALA 11 Aug: Forty Tibetan activists ran from Jackson Heights to the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan on Sunday, covering 10-12 kilometres in the latest “Run for Tibet – Run to End CCP” campaign to protest Chinese occupation of their homeland.

DHARAMSALA, 13 June: Ahead of the upcoming G7 summit in Canada, a coalition of over 147 Tibet-related rights groups has urged the G7 governments to call for an end to China’s interference in the selection of the next Dalai lama and other Tibetan Buddhist leaders.
