DHARAMSALA, 10 March: In commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising on March 10th, 1959, the leadership of the Tibetan government in exile, commonly referred to as the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), and Tibetans living in Dharamsala gathered at the courtyard of Tsuglag-Khang, the main temple in McLeod Ganj this morning.

DHARAMSALA, 10 March: Nepal has yet again denied permission for Tibetans to commemorate the Tibetan National Uprising Day, with the Tibetan Refugee Welfare Office calling on Tibetans to conduct prayers and ritual activities at home as usual. Meanwhile, the Gu-Chu-Sum Movement of Tibet, an organisation of former political prisoners of Tibet, has abstained for the second year in a row from co-organising a peace march from the main temple in McLeod Ganj to Kacheri in lower Dharamsala to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day with major NGOs based here in the exile headquarters of the Tibetan people.

DHARAMSALA, 8 March: The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) held a prayer service today in memory of the bravery and sacrifices made by Tibetans who rose up between 1987 and 1989 in protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) colonial rule in Tibet at Tsuglag-Khang, the main temple in McLeod Ganj.

DHARAMSALA, 8 March: The President of the Tibetan government in exile, commonly referred to as the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Penpa Tsering, condemned the brutal crackdown by Chinese authorities on peaceful Tibetan protesters in Derge. He called for the immediate release of all Tibetans currently held under arrest, tibet.net, the official website of the CTA reported on Thursday.
