Dalai Lama reassures to live about 100 years of age
DHARAMSALA, Sept 4: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Sep 3 attended a long-life prayer offering (tenshug) jointly organized by Tibetans from Kalimpong, Gangtok, Darjeeling and Ravangla along with Utsang Cholka, Domey Cholka and Dharamsala based Chushi Gangdrug.
Thousands of Tibetans and followers of the Buddhist faith gathered at the courtyard of Tsuglagkhang, the main temple to attend the long-life prayer offering
The Dalai Lama briefly addressed the congregation after the prayer ceremony and thanked the participants and organisers for offering him the long-life prayer. Much to the delight of the congregation, the Dalai Lama reaffirmed to live about 100 years of age.
“Although my life is devoted to the benefit of all sentient beings on this earth, as a Tibetan, I am fated to be in service of Tibet. Therefore, as per your prayers and wishes, I assure you that I would live about 100 years of age,” the Dalai Lama said.
Following His Holiness’ address, cultural performances were presented drawing smiles and applause from the crowd.
