Dalai Lama wishes Dr Manmohan Singh swift recovery from COVID-19
DHARAMSALA, 20 April: The Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has wished India’s former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh a swift recovery after the latter tested positive for the COVID-19.
In a missive addressed to the former prime minister, the Dalai Lama referred to him as an old friend for whom he has enormous respect and said “I pray that you will make a swift recovery.”
Dr Singh, 88, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday and he was admitted to the Trauma Centre of Delhi’s AIIMS, the ANI reported.
The Dalai Lama has further offered his “prayers and good wishes” to Dr Singh and concluded by adding that “I hope we may see an early end to challenges the Coronavirus pandemic poses as it threatens every nation across the world.”
According to the latest reports, the former Prime Minister’s condition is stable now.
Meanwhile, India’s Health Minister has stated that Dr Singh is being given the best possible medical care.
“His condition is stable. Best possible care is being provided to him. We all pray for his quick recovery,” India’s Union Health Minister Dr Vardhan tweeted earlier today.
