LTWA and Central University of HP signs MOU for cooperation in academic exchange program

DHARAMSALA, Jan 17: The Library of Tibetan Works and Archives(LTWA) and the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in academic exchange program.
Geshe Lhakdor, Director of LTWA and Prof. (Dr.) Kuldip Chand Agnihotri, Vice- Chancellor of CUHP signed the MOU at a press conference held today at the LTWA located within the premises of the Central Tibetan Administration here in Dharamsala.
“The Central University of Himachal Pradesh has plans to offer MPhil. course in Tibetan studies and the students will come to the LTWA to do their research. Further, if the LTWA is to spread awareness about the Tibetan issue and its culture among the Indian community, more books should be printed in Hindi,” Prof. (Dr.) Kuldip Chand Agnihotri said.
The MOU will explore cooperation between the two institutes to promote and foster exchange programs, courses, seminars, internships and other activities and to develop and bring about educational cooperation, in matters of reciprocal interest of both the institutes.
Geshe Lhakdor, Director of LTWA described the MOU with the Central University of Himachal Pradesh as an execution of His Holiness’ advice, that is exporting the Tibetan culture that is beneficial to the people of the world and to revive the ancient tradition of India.
LTWA has so far published around 12-13 books on Tibetan culture, tradition and history in Hindi along with the publication of its periodical in Hindi.
LTWA has in the past signed MOU for cooperation in academic exchange program with around ten Universities across United States, Brazil, South Korea and Russia.
