Prime Minister Modi wishes long, healthy life as Dalai Lama turns 86
DHARAMSALA, 6 July: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama a long and healthy life on his birthday.
As the Dalai Lama turned 86 today, Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to announce that he spoke with the Tibetan Nobel Laureate to extend his greetings.
“Spoke on phone to His Holiness the @DalaiLama to convey greetings on his 86th birthday. We wish him a long and healthy life,” Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle at 12:50 pm.
As of press time, the Indian Prime Minister’s tweet received 4,930 retweets and 30.5k likes.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso was born Lhamo Dhondup on 6 July 1935 to a peasant family in Taktser village in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo.
