DHARAMSALA, 9 Oct: The Tibet Policy Institute (TPI) of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile inaugurated the 7th Young Indian Scholars Conference on Tibetan Studies today at the Administrative and Welfare Society in Dharamshala. The conference brings together 30 participants, including four experts in Tibetan studies, 23 young Indian scholars, and three co-authors.

The conference, taking place from October 8 to 9, will feature paper presentations and discussions across ten academic sessions, covering a wide range of Tibet-related themes including foreign policy and geopolitics, trade routes and cultural exchange, demography and population change, medicine and traditional knowledge, media, identity, memory, and exile.

The conference is seen as an effort to foreground Tibetan perspectives in academic scholarship, countering dominant representations of Tibet shaped by external interpretations.

It also seeks to cultivate lasting academic connections with young Indian scholars for future collaboration.
