DHARAMSALA, 21 Sept: A Tibetan woman has been crowned Miss Grand Belgium 2021 and she is all set to represent Belgium at the Miss Grand International 2021.

Tenzin Zomkey won the crown of Miss Grand Belgium 2021 on 18th September 2021 after competing for the national crown with stunning beauties from all over the country.

“The crown on my head wouldn’t have been possible without your constant encouragement. I believe, I won more than the crown, I won your trust and faith in my vision. I have been competing in beauty competitions since the age of 15, I have seen more failures than success but my heart was right and I believed in my dream,”  she has said after winning the crown.

“So last night was all about hard work that the last 5 years asked of me. Today, if some can relate to my story, three cheers to you. Thank you to all the girls for giving me the honor to share the stage with you”, she added.

Zomkey, 20 is not new to the pageant world as she previously made her mark in 2017 by becoming the first-ever Tibetan to make it to the final of Top model Belgium 2018- season 14 when she was just 15.

She was then shortlisted in the final 65 contestants from a total of 400 contestants on 2 April 2017 after the vote count. People from Belgium, France, and Luxemburg voted via SMS.

She will now represent Belgium at Miss Grand International 2021 to be held in Phuket, Thailand on 4th December 2021.  Belgium did not participate in the 2019 and 2020 editions of the pageant.

Zomkey hails from Mundgod Tibetan settlement and later moved to Belgium. 

The newly crowned Miss Grand Belgium 2021 stands 166 cm tall and she is fluent in Tibetan, Dutch, English while she can also understand and respond in Hindi, French, and German.
