DHARAMSALA, 10 Oct: In an attempt to whitewash China’s occupation and repressive rule in Tibet, Beijing has yet again organised an orchestrated tour in Tibet for nearly 30 journalists from 22 countries.
DHARAMSALA, 5 Oct: Two leaders of the Taiwan People’s Community Party have been indicted by prosecutors in Taiwan for alleged collusion with China in an effort to influence the January elections, as reported by The Hindu today.
According to the report from the Central News Agency (CNA), Chairman Lin Te-wang and Vice-Chairman Chen Chien-hsin were found accepting funds and other benefits from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), leading to charges of violating the Anti-Infiltration Act and the Civil Servants Election and Recall Act on 3 October.

DHARAMSALA, 4 Oct: A photo of two Chinese athletes’ unintentional reference to the Tiananmen Square massacre has been censored on Chinese social media, as reported by the BBC today.
The two female athletes, assigned to lane numbers 6 and 4 during their 100m hurdles race at the Asian Games, accidentally formed the number ’64’ as they embraced.

DHARAMSALA, 3 Oct:Tibet Film Festival (TFF) 2023 in India is set to kick off at the College of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, today at 6:30 in the evening. The organizers have announced an “exciting lineup of experimental and bold new short films from Tibetan filmmakers across the diaspora”, scheduled to be screened from October 3 – 8 October.

DHARAMSALA, 2 Oct: As China marks the 74th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Beijing, three Tibetan NGOs staged a joint protest at Main Square, McLeod Ganj yesterday, standing in solidarity with activists representing Tibet, East Turkestan, Southern Mongolia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China.
The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) commemorates the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, India’s father of the nation, at its headquarters here.

DHARAMSALA, 28 Sept: A Tibetan man named Tsultrim, originally from Amdo Ngaba in eastern Tibet, has reportedly been sentenced to two years in prison for possessing photos of the Dalai Lama, according to a report by Tibet Watch on Tuesday.
DHARAMSALA, 28 Sept: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPIE) announced that it had postponed its 6th session due to a lack of quorum. “In accordance with Article 49, Clause 2 of the Charter of Tibetans in Exile, the 6th session of the 17th TPIE stands postponed owing to the lack of quorum,” read a statement issued by the Parliamentary Secretariat on Thursday.

DHARAMSALA, 26 Sept: The human rights group, Dui Hua Foundation, confirmed on Thursday that the renowned Uighur scholar Rahile Dawut has been sentenced to life imprisonment in a secret trial by Chinese authorities, as stated in the foundation’s press release on 21 September.
