DHARAMSALA 23 Sept: Four Pemakopa (Pad-ma dkod pa) youths from the Tibetan community in Canada have launched the 6th Peace Rally Marathon for Tibet on Monday, running from Ottawa to Toronto. The initiative calls on the Canadian government and the international community to honour His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday, safeguard Tibet as the “Third Pole,” and to advocate for the release of Tibetan political prisoners in Chinese custody.

DHARAMSALA 19 September: The Centre for Middle Way Initiative commemorated the official adoption of the Middle way policy  by the Tibetan parliament in exile on 18 September 1997 in pursuit of a negotiated solution to the Tibetan issue with China, marking the transition of its policy from seeking independence for Tibet to seeking genuine autonomy as enshrined in the Chinese constitution, on Thursday.

DHARAMSALA 19 Sept: The Chief Representative Office (CRO) of Ladakh in the Sonamling Settlement today hosted over 40 trainers from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at the CRO Hall for an awareness programme on the life and works of the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet — an initiative that also resonates with Tibet’s historical assertions at a time of heightened Chinese expansionism along the Indo-Tibet border.

DHARAMSALA, 18 September: Former MP Tsering Youdon and former Education Department Secretary Nangsa Choedon were elected as the two Additional Election Commissioners on the final day of the 10th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, setting the stage for the 2026 Tibetan general election.

DHARAMSALA, 18 Sept: The Tibet Policy Institute (TPI), the research wing of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), today launched a Tibetan version of a book titled “A Comprehensive History of Tibetan Population Growth and Decline” authored by its retiring Director, Bari Dawa Tsering, a work that represents the most detailed and comprehensive study of Tibet’s population to date.

DHARAMSALA, 16 September: Tibetan MPs accused Sikyong Penpa Tsering of “distorting and misinterpreting Tibet’s history” on the sixth day of the 10th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, following his remarks in Tezu settlement suggesting that “should Tibetans pursue full independence, the so-called Tibet Autonomous Region would be more entitled to do so, if viewed through the lens of history.”

DHARAMSALA 13 Sept: What is the Cabinet’s view when a policy advisor to the Central Tibetan Administration(CTA) questions the very viability of the Middle Way policy? asked MP Dawa Tsering, as the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile posed a starred question to the CTA President led Kashag(Cabinet) over remarks by Kelsang Gyaltsen, one of the two former envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the dialogue with the Chinese leadership.

DHARAMSALA, 12 Sept: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPIE) unanimously passed a five-point resolution expressing gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his lifelong service to the Tibetan people, including his leadership in preserving Tibetan culture, unifying the Tibetan people, and promoting global peace.

DHARAMSALA, 10 Sept: The Tibet issue is intrinsically international and not merely an internal affair of China, the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, said today in his session commencement address as the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile began its 10th session.

DHARAMSALA, 10 Sept: Sikyong Penpa Tsering,  the political head of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) today urged Tibetan refugees in Nepal to exercise caution amid the student-led Gen Z protests against widespread corruption, nepotism and unemployment among others in Nepal.
